After over five decades in the entertainment industry, Kunene has decided to step back from acting, exiting his role as Funani Zwide on the popular etv drama "House of Zwide," as reported by Drum.
According to inside sources, Kunene's decision is motivated by a desire to slow down and relax, acknowledging that he is "not getting any younger." Known for his powerful portrayal of Jack Mabaso on "Generations," Kunene's final appearance on "House of Zwide" is set for later this month as his character's storyline concludes.

"He's already finished filming but will be on screen until next week, when his character will move to another province, marking his exit," the source revealed. Etv confirmed Kunene's departure, noting that he completed shooting his final scenes last month.
No announcements have been made regarding a successor for Kunene's character, Funani Zwide, leaving the possibility open for the actor's return in the future. "There haven't been discussions about a replacement, and it's likely he won't be replaced, keeping the door open for his possible return," the source added.
