Itumeleng Khune's Thoughts on His Kaizer Chiefs Future
Itumeleng Khune, a seasoned goalkeeper, has chosen to remain silent about his possible next move with Kaizer Chiefs. Since Khune was not included in the Chiefs' preseason trip to Turkey, there has been conjecture that his time with the team may be coming to an end. Khune's contract with the Chiefs expired last month.

"I would like not to be cited on this matter. Khune said to 45-minute sources at the DStv Ekasi Champ of Champs final last weekend, "I'd rather talk to Chiefs." Khune's contract was extended by the Chiefs by a year in June of last year, indicating that it would be his final season as an active player before he moved into a non-playing capacity.

Khune will use this year to improve his technical skills while continuing to participate in player preparation drills and games. In addition to utilizing this year to improve his technical abilities, Khune will continue to participate in workouts and match preparations as a player.

The Chiefs also announced that Khune will be moving into a new counseling and ambassadorial role with the Club's marketing section. Despite this, Khune stated that he wasn't quite ready to hang up his boots during his "farewell" game against Polokwane City in May.

The Kaizer Chiefs' Pursuit Of An Egyptian Star Has Gotten A Big Boost
"As we always have, we will continue to see each other and vacation together. After the game, Khune addressed the crowd, saying, "I am thankful for all that everyone did for me." This isn't the last goodbye. It is evident from the club that they are commemorating my 25 years of service. They didn't declare, "We're saying goodbye to Itumeleng Khune."

Now that his contract has expired, it's unclear if Khune will stop playing or play professionally somewhere else. As preparations for their Toyota Cup matchup against Tanzania's top team, Young Africans (Yanga), on Sunday, the Chiefs arrived back in South Africa on Wednesday after their trip to Turkey.
